I have been tutoring in various math, elementary, and Spanish areas for 13 years. I have tutored students from elementary school age to adults. I have also tutored students all over the US and in other coutries. I have listed all the areas that I am comfortable tutoring. I am willing to teach in a library, in the student's home, on-line, or in another area that is agreed upon by both myself and the parent. I am open to group sessions, this would require me booking a meeting room in a library, or another location. On-line is preferred if possible to reduce travel time(s), this would also allow me to assist more students in a more efficient way.
My teaching style varies by person, because not everyone learns the same way. I adapt my teaching style to the learning style of the person.

My comments on tutoring ASVAB : Test preparation is my passion. I have a great prep book I like to use.

I homeschooled my three daughters for 10 years, right through high school. All three have gone on to Colllege and have excelled, making the Dean's list. In the work world, two have been highly praised for their writing skills. After homeschooling, I began tutoring. My teaching style is one where I combine the approach that best suits the individual’s personal learning style with proven sound educational best practices. I have had successes with motivating students who usually do not like to read. I have been able to help them by meeting them where they are and then helping them to formulate and meet their own goals. More About This Tutor...

I've been teaching informally most of my adult life. I earned a 193 out of a possible 200 on a Praxis test that covered content knowledge of my subject area (English literature), and 179 in a comprehensive middle school language arts test, and am enrolled in Capella University, where I'm currently pursuing a master's of science degree in K-12 studies. Teaching has been my passion for a long time. My biggest strengths are not only considerable knowledge in my subject area, but life experience: I know what kids are up against if they do not maximize their educational chances in a timely manner.
