A Little Bit About Me...

As a high school student, I excelled in math and science. I received a 5 on BC Calculus, AP Statistics and AP Environmental Science, and 4 in AP Chemistry and AP American History. At Duke University, I majored in environmental science and policy, with a minor in economics. After working for three years for non-profits, I decided medicine was more aligned with my interests. I attended Georgetown University post-baccalaureate pre-medical program. I completed 26 hours of credits with a 3.94 GPA. I took the MCAT in May of 2007 and placed in the 97th percentile across the nation.
In high school, I tutored mathematics at Alexander Children's Center. Many of the children were abused at home, creating difficult challenges initially. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a huge proponent of the dialectic and Socratic methods of teaching, while recognizing the need for the didactic to learn the basic methods of academics. My own experience, as well as my background in Psychology, helps me recognize that learning must be relevant, interesting, and conducted in a highly accepting and supportive environment.
