A Little Bit About Me...

I tutored Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Biology and Chemistry while I was pursuing both of my degrees. Not only was I a tutor, but I also sought tutoring for myself! I feel that tutorial sessions can help students get a better understanding of a subject outside of daily classroom lectures. Since 1993 I have served as an AP Reader and a College Board Consultant, grading the AP Chemistry Exams and teaching teachers how to establish their AP program. I won many awards for teaching and was selected teacher of the year in 2002. Along with adult college students, I have worked with Boy Scouts, middle school students and high school students. A Little Bit About Me...

In high school, I tutored mathematics at Alexander Children's Center. Many of the children were abused at home, creating difficult challenges initially. However, I was able to work through some of these challenges by creating a calm and understanding environment, but also by establishing a routine. Today, I continue to volunteer at the Center as a basketball coach and can honestly say that I love working with children.
