A Little Bit About Me...

I've always believed that children learn by doing. I would rather have my students get real hands-on experience because concepts can be better attained and understood if children get real experience with it. I also believe that children learn differently from one another and a teacher should be able to accommodate the different learning styles of her or his students. One method may not work for a student, so I feel that it is the teacher's responsibility to make sure each student reaches their full potential by finding ways that will work for her/his students and then incorporate these differences in the classroom.

I always wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. After earning both undergraduate and graduate degree in education, I taught first grade in both public and Christian schools for 5 years. I attended many Professional Development courses and applied new knowledge to my classroom. I also spent close to two years as an Educational Consultant and trainer for Houghton Mifflin Publishing Company in Asia from 2006-2008. I really enjoy being around kids and helping them learn new things. When you teach a kid something and they finally get it, the sight of their face lighting up is priceless. I believe that one should teach using a variety of methods because all kids do not learn the same way and each individual method shows something new each time.
