A Little Bit About Me...

Will have an Associates in computer programming as of May 2012 from JCC i know C++, VB, PHP, MySQL, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and i am very fluent within a Windows based operating system. I have been taking computer classes since the begining of summer in 2010 at JCC i have grown up on windows based operating systems since 95 and learned exel,powerpoint,and word in high school before 2006 and have taken extended classes on them also at JCC.
I like to have the student get to the answer on thier own with some guidence, i feel this is the best way for them to learn.

I feel that children learn best through rich experiences with a variety of materials. Children learn better when instruction is "hands-on" rather than listening to a teacher lecture. The most learning possible can be achieved if variety of senses and "multiple intelligences" are stimulated. I went to school at EMU with the intention of getting a doctorate in Physics, to teach at the college level. I ended up getting a job in IT at the University, and found I enjoy this just as much. While a student, I volunteer tutored for the Society of Physics Students, and I tutor all the student employees I have when they are taking physics classes. I love teaching, and the students that I have tutored have excelled under my supervision.
I try my best to make the student figure things out on their own, by giving simple guiding questions or comments. I do not like to simply do the problems for them, as I find most people do not learn well this way.
