A Little Bit About Me...

I had been a teacher for 12 years engaging in a multitude of learning styles and methodology. I spent 6 years serving as principal at all levels. I was Director of Education for two years and then served as Superintendent of Schools for two districts for a total of 15 years. During that time I never lost connection with teaching, mentoring students from all levels of education and continued to teach in the classroom at least once a week. I was an adjunct professor for two years at Waynesburg University in Pennsylvania. I retired in 2009 to travel and photograph the country, while living in and RV. I have seven years working experience. I have worked as a TSS and in a special needs classroom. I have experience with visually and multi-disabled children, working with autistic and downs syndrome children, and basic sign language skills. I have my BS degree in elementary education from the University of Pittsburgh.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am taking a class in my Master's program in which I have learned six different educational methods to use with students. Each method is different, and I have been able to learn and work through each of them. I am confident in my ability to concentrate learning through cooperative groups, presentations, direct instructions, problem based and discovery topics, concept lessons, and disscusions. I have also been taught in each lesson how to edit the lesson for English Language Learners, gifted students, and students who need more support. I believe that each child learns in their own unique way.
