My teaching style centers on relationships. I feel that it is essential to build a relationship with each student, and with their family, as well. Truly knowing a child allows you to understand their strengths and areas of growth, and helps identify ways to reach that child where they are and help propel them further. I am well-versed in many strategies used to differentiate instruction, and have applicable experience using these skills with a variety of age groups. I focus on positive reinforcement, so that students feel encouraged and supported as they tackle content, with the appropriate level of support and modifications. An easy concise approach for the student to gain a better understanding of the subject. I have basic experience tutoring and helping students with homework or concepts they didn't grasp well. Mainly helped out in math subjects as they are easier to explain with concepts and derivation so nothing just gets thrown out of nowhere and the student understands how it came into being. The students I tutored ended up making grades with a high B and above.
