I try to teach conversationally and help students get comfortable with the process of doing the problems over just giving the answers. I tend to go with asking questions as a default--I've found it really helps learning, especially with classes like math that are more about understanding the process than regurgitating answers--but during those times we all have when you have no idea where to start, I'm happy to explain it out! My main goal is to help build confidence. Math can suck and it's not everyone's thing, but it often sounds a lot more complicated than it is too. While attending college I was apart of many different study groups. In such study groups we would teach each other the information we needed to learn. When I was in upper level courses I would assist the underclassmen with their homework so that they could grasp the information. The style of teaching that I use is experience.
