Grammar is one of my top subjects!

I am a hands on teacher, probably because I am a hands on learner. I find it difficult to learn when an instructor is solely lecturing. I believe that constant practice and hands on lessons are the most effective ways of learning.
I have an incredible passion for teaching. I am currently in the process of getting my Bachelors in Secondary Education with a focus in English. I have knowledge of the structure and content of the English language and thoroughly enjoy teaching others composition, spelling, creative writing, reading, vocabulary, etc. I do not have much experience yet in a classroom setting but have volunteered at a middle school while getting my Associates degree. Students learn with a variety of learning methods. Some students are more kinetic, while others are more auditory or visual. I think it is important for students to develop self- esteem and see themselves succeeding, and that is what I work on first including staying on task. I have always used Madeline Hunters guidelines for successful lesson plans, which includes using manipulatives to assist students in understanding concepts. In high school I was able to tutor students in all subjects ranging from English to Math to Musical Studies. I don't know whether this is entirely correct since I haven't had a personal encounter with such a heavenly body, but I consider myself to be a kind and patient instructor who also loves for her students to learn.
