I would to teach math because I have been applying math my entire life. I have a four year degree in mechanical engineering technology. I have used math extensively in my everyday job. The last sixteen years I have used math to figure out complex equations. My problem solving skills are good. I teach my kids math and reading.

A Little Bit About Me...

Over many years as an IT person, I worked with clients, one on one, teaching them how to get their computer to do what they want it to do. Often times, the client would be very frustrated. I needed to first, relieve the frustration – then determine what needed to be done to rectify the situation (through a question and answer processes). Additionally, positive reinforcement is needed throughout the learning process to allow for a more affirmative result.

My teaching style is casual and hands-on. I start with a discussion of the subject matter from a big picture perspective, to underscore the significance of the issue from an overall business management perspective. I move on to a discussion of definitions and fundamental concepts. I tend to communicate graphically, and enjoy drawing diagrams and charts. Next, I would move into an example illustrating the concept using very simple numbers.
