I am a fun, enthusiastic, caring, supportive, yet, particular teacher. My students learn whether they want to or not... I include a lot of games and activities which are fun for everyone, including myself! I have to have fun, because if I'm not, I know my students aren't having any fun. I am a retired Boulder valley teacher and I have taught from the preschool to college level for over 20 years. Most recently, I worked as an ESL and reading teacher. My training was modeled after reading recovery and involved one year of supervised teaching one-on-one with children who were struggling readers. The goal of this training is to help children work with their strengths as readers, rather than focusing on their weaknesses.
