I have a Bachelors degree in Speech and certifications in Special Education and American Sign Language. I have a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have twenty-one years teaching experience in public education. Six of those years were in special education, and fifteen have been teaching American Sign Language levels I, II, and III at the high school level. I have over twenty years experience interpreting worship services for the deaf at my church. I have three years experience doing in-home tutoring in American Sign Language.

I truly enjoy teaching children. Each child is different and learn in different ways, so I use the teaching types to make sure each child is learning the best way they can. I believe children learn the most through hands-on activities and through play. That way the student can discover many ways to learn and understand fundamentals of their teachings. While going to college for my education degree, I taught preschool for 5 and 1/2 years before my semester of student teaching in Kindergarten before graduation. A few months after receiving my BA and Teaching Certificate, I began teaching preschool again and have substituted middle school some as well. I have also held a Child Development Associate while teaching preschool.
