Graduate student looking to help students achieve their goals!

I think teaching styles should differ based on the preferred learning style of the student. The teaching style should play on the strengths and preferences of that particular student. That being said, I foster a student-centered approach to learning. This approach encourages the student play an equal, active role in the learning process, rather than a passive role. A cooperative approach is important so the student can feel like he or she is an active and capable participant in learning the material. I also believe in leading by example and allowing the student to use me as a resource for reviewing their work.

A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout my education, I've found that broad academic interests have led me to pursue a wide range of subjects simultaneously. My undergraduate degree is a double major in music and comparative religion, and my other coursework ranged from astronomy to constitutional law. I recognize with gratitude the manifold opportunities that were available to me, but the most important piece was taking ownership of my own education.
