My comments on tutoring Physics : I recently tutored high school Physics. In less than a month my student had made a lot of progress in understanding concepts that he struggled with before. Physics is a subject that builds upon previously learned concepts, so it was pivotal for him to understand those building blocks. I also excelled in my own college Physics course and really enjoyed teaching it.

I try to get my students to find the answer for themselves by asking them questions. Students need to come to an understanding of their material and that won't happen if I continually give them the answers. I'm also very patient with my students. If they don't grasp a concept or topic that we're working on, I will continue to explain it to them in different ways until it makes sense.
I have been tutoring students for about 5 years. I started when I was a junior in high school. My first experiences tutoring were through the National Honor Society. I volunteered after school once or twice per week and I tutored mainly ESL students in Math and English. My senior year of high school and throughout the time I was in college, I tutored a high school student who had educational and developmental deficits. My teaching style is such that students are taken and made active learners and not just as recipients of knowledge. Students have to own their learning. Students are encouraged to come up with the answers by leading them toward the answer and this involves using past experiences and knowledge leart earler instead of being given the answers. Collaborative learning is encouraged in my classes, because I believe that students can learn from each other.
I have two BS degrees, one in physics and Education and a masters degree in Physics. I am also a licensed teacher, teaching Physics and Chemistry, and three-time variance to teach Math. My 11 year experience in teaching in public, Alternative high and charter schools has prepared me for this job.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have developed numerous skills set in the area of quality control testing and reviewed documents under the general guide line and established protocol which abide by the FDA. Although my career was based in industrial analytical chemistry and biology, I also voluntarily tutored my nephews, neices, my wife, and groups of Oromo student at my community with math, Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology and general biology both at high school level and college level.
I love teaching student who needed help to the best of my knowledge. I believe that everyone is able to learn and reach their goal in their own way or with a little help.
