As a student I enjoyed school and learning and therefore went on after high school to obtain a B.S in Biology. I have always enjoyed science, math, and writing and enjoy helping others in these subjects as well as others. My first tutoring experience was tutoring underprivileged high school students weekly. If I sense that their eyes have "glazed over," it is time for a change of pace. I might interject some humor or tell a short story to give them a break. I know that learning is hard work. I would also use games and projects to give them a change of pace. Sometimes I would assign a lesson for them to teach.
