I am recent graduate of Grand Canyon University and I completed my student teaching with Atlanta Public Schools while working in a Special Needs Kindergarten and First grade class. I worked with the lead teacher to prepared modified and differentiated lessons for students. I also served as a special needs paraprofessional in an Autism/MOID class. My greatest enjoyment in teaching is when a student ‘discovers’ their ability to overcome their negative self belief. I guide students through their learning process with gentle encouragement and patience. In response to your recently advertised job position, I would like to share with you my experiences working in the related field. I have over five years experience working for a non-profit, child caring institute for DFCS and DJJ children. I have worked directly with the children in managing behaviors and I have worked indirectly in creating individualized treatment plans, assessments, and behavior modifications.
My teaching style is to lead by example.
