In 1992 I graduated from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) with a degree in music education, vocal and trumpet emphasis. Since then, I have been employed by Defiance Area Youth for Christ, and it has been my privilege to assist young people to acheieve their fullest potential in every aspect of their lives. During my employment with YFC, I have been allowed to substitute teach in schools throughout Defiance County and have done so over the last ten years. During my collegiate years, I learned that experience was just as important as obtaining my degree. Therefore, I worked during my college years in a school offering mentoring for young children. For the last two years, I have worked for a young adult mentoring program called Project Respect. I work as a classroom facilitator. I enjoy watching children learn and grow. I believe there are different teaching techniques for each individual student. I have come to learn this because of my younger sibling who didn't fit into the mold of a typical public school student. I am a firm believer in trying new things and new approaches.
As a Bowling Green State University student who has studied Communication Disorders I have come across many experiences with children.
