I have always believed everyone can learn and everyone has different learning styles. Finding what works for the student is often the key to life-long success. I have a great connection with students and am always a believer they can be successful. Patience, motivation and desire are essential to success.
I have experience in every level of student. My first degree (A.S.) was in Engineering and I worked at higher level math, including a college Teacher's Assistant in Calculus. I went on to obtain a B.S. in Education. I took the coursework for Middle and High School endorsements in 4 other subject areas. I work in Remedial Education at a local university currently.

In 1992 I graduated from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) with a degree in music education, vocal and trumpet emphasis. Since then, I have been employed by Defiance Area Youth for Christ, and it has been my privilege to assist young people to acheieve their fullest potential in every aspect of their lives. During my employment with YFC, I have been allowed to substitute teach in schools throughout Defiance County and have done so over the last ten years. I taught 3 years of English for Ft. Wayne Community Schools to high school students in the Youth Life Skills program. I have had nearly 2,000 hours of anatomy course work as well as I've taken biology, chemistery, and pharmacology at Indiana-Purdue University of Ft Wayne.

I enjoy watching children learn and grow. I believe there are different teaching techniques for each individual student. I have come to learn this because of my younger sibling who didn't fit into the mold of a typical public school student. I am a firm believer in trying new things and new approaches.
As a Bowling Green State University student who has studied Communication Disorders I have come across many experiences with children.
