My comments on tutoring Physics : can tutor with some review of the subject.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in History. I have 7 years experience as an Engineer. In High School I went to an international baccalaureate school and focused on math and science. I believe that tutoring is the key to successful learning by incorporating the following 5 rules to teaching: Assist A tutor's main job responsibility is to assist students academically in whichever subject(s) the students are seeking improvement. This may be difficult at first because not everyone learns the same way, so before a tutor can assist, he should get to know his students a little. Evaluate After tutoring for a while, some tutors will go back and evaluate students' progress in order to see where improvements can be made. The tutor may evaluate her teaching skills to make sure her students are receiving enough attention and assistance. Motivate A tutor should ... read more

My name is Jim, and I'm excited to have the opportunity to be your or your child's tutor.I am a junior at Georgia Tech now. I have a double major of mechanical and computer science. My GPA is 3.7, and I got a full score of math in all my ACT tests. Also, I am top 25% students in my major. Since 2012, I have taught TOEFL, SAT, ACT and Chinese to students at test-prep and language. I am now doing co-op program in washington, GA.
I review concepts until it's clear that the student has mastered them, and new ones are introduced only when the student is ready. In addition to increasing my students' scores, I help students take ownership of their learning, with the goal of making them an independent and successful student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with all age groups. I have three younger siblings that I have helped tutor through all levels of their educations. I have also tutored on a college level while in attendance at Presbyterian College. I am very patient, easy-going, and considerate. I emphasize the personal nature of the teacher-learner relationship. I teach by asking questions, exploring options with learners, and focusing on learner responsibility, independence, and initiative. I like to push my students to their fullest potential and encourage them to take unique approaches to their studies.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love that look that you get from a child who gets what you are teaching them. When the light bulb turns on, and you know that they understand the process. That's what makes it all worth it. My teaching style is that with enough work, any child can succeed. They just have to know they matter to the teacher. I am a hands on learner myself so visual tools help me to teach the concepts to students.
I am a graduate of Clemson University, with a BA in Biological Sciences. I have always enjoyed biology since my first AP class my Junior year of high school. After college graduation I worked for six months in a cancer research lab, which gave me the knowledge of "real life" science and how that effects our lives I have worked as an after school and summer camp counselor which has helped me learn how to relate to them, and teach them material they are learning in school.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is one of excitement and enthusiasm. I am passionate about the material I teach, and try to convey this excitement to my students without being annoying and over enthused. In the fields of physics and mathematics, I prefer to use analogies and easy to understand examples to help students learn specific principles and to help show them the big picture into which their hard work fits. I emphasize students taking pride in their work and steadily gaining self-confidence.

I first start by explaining the material the way that I understand it. I also show examples to show how the problems are solved. If it doesn't seem to be taking then I start to break the problems down into simple steps and explain each step until the student understands. I also try to relate the material to them so they can relate to the material on a more personal level so that the information will stick with them better.
During my time at Hampden-Sydney College, I was a math tutor, computer science tutor, and a physics tutor. I started tutoring my junior year of college where I just tutor math and computer science. I mostly help students with Calc I and Calc for Econ problems. In my senior year, I continued to tutor math, but I tutored stats instead of calculus. I also tutored physics.
