I had my first experience with tutoring in an intensive summer program at Georgia Tech before my freshman year when a good friend and upperclassman helped me navigate my way through Chemistry and college life. First off i don't believe that a kid is dumb or doesn't know how to do anything. Children only know what we teach them.
