A Little Bit About Me...

I have many volunteer hours stacked up working with groups of children, but I would love to teach on a more personal basis to build my one-on-one skills. I'm currently an education major at Colorado State University, and while music is my emphasis, I was always very studious in school and am well-versed in other subjects. I have received numerous academic and artistic awards, some (such as being named a Texas Music Scholar) encompass both.

I tend to use the socratic method a lot to help my students arrive at their own conclusions and understanding of material, paired with some basic, interactive instruction when students do not already understand some of the material involved. The tutoring was in a small group setting and was on any subject the children needed help in but mainly in reading comprehension.
