I've always had a passion to teach. Life took me down a few different paths but I've managed to find my way back to teaching. I'm looking to pursue a Masters in order to obtain a position in the fields of teaching CAD. I enjoy teaching others because I think I have a unique connection with the way some people think. I have dyslexia, but I managed to get a 3.9 in High School, a 2.98 at Michigan Tech and currently hold a 3.85 at KVCC. In groups, I like to have many examples and participation from the audience. As a manager and mentor, I also prefer to teach a concept and return to it when the student has an opportunity to use it in their work. It is important to be able to adjust your teaching style to the needs of the student, and I love the challenge of being able to do this.
I have always loved to learn new things, and as a teenager wanted to be a teacher. I have a B.S. in Dietetics with a chemistry minor, as well as an M.B.A. My role as a dietitian requires the ability to teach all ages groups, with diverse backgrounds and educational levels. After completion of my MBA, I moved into a senior leadership role. In this position, I facilitated strategic planning sessions and tutored staff who were completing BS or MS degrees in English, sciences, quality, writing, and business classes.
