I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. Elementary Math is one of my top subjects! Math often needs various ways of explaining concepts. I use patterns and simple shortcuts to allow students to understand and do math problems and to use math in every day experiences.

In groups large or small I have always individualized instruction. I get to know each student's interests and abilities, then build on the abilities using the interests.
