Just to show an example, the pythagorus theorem is really useful to work around were we make use of the hypotenuse to walk less from point a to b rather than going through the path.

I have been a teacher at Blue Mountain High School for three years. Prior to that I taught at Reading High School for two years. In addition, I was a mathematics aide for a year at Schuylkill Valley High School. In all my experience, I have taught everything from Algebra I to Calculus. Earning my Master's degree last year, gave some more strategies to use and develop both in and out of the classroom. Teaching is a difficult task. Everyone learns at a different pace and on their own level. Some students are quick learners and their teacher only needs to go over the lesson once; other students need to hear the subject content in a different form to understand it. Having said that, I can't explain my teaching style as a cut and dry formula. The skill level of each student and the way they process information will determine how I will present them with questions and explanations. I don't believe in teaching every student with the same teaching style; I believe in conforming to the skill level of the student so that at the end of the day, they learn the topic we set out to conquer.
