A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated high school in the International Baccalaureate program with a 4.5 gpa and 30 college credits. I then went on to the University of Colorado starting out as a sophomore. I graduated 3 years later with a degree in Integrative Physiology. I have an extensive background in science and math. While at CU I was able to tutor children through a program called Reading Buddies where I would meet every week with them every week and read to them in English. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching children takes patience and creativity. Each child is different in their attention span and interests. Making each subject important and interesting is one place to start. It is crucial to never let a child give up, and not to give up on them yourself. My goal in teaching is to determine which way the child learns, for example a visual learning may need to draw out spelling words, where an audible learner needs to recite them. I love to find new ways to relate what they are learning with life outside of school and in this way show them how important the subject is. I do believe that each child can learn, but sometimes not understanding a subject is like building a wall on a road.
