I enjoy working with children and excell at working with children who might be struggling with comprehension or who have learning disabilities. I am a graduate of both the University of Colorado and Adams State College. I hold a Master's degree in Secondary Education as well as a Initial Teacher's license. I have experience as a volunteer tutor in social studies and math, a paid tutor in reading, a student teacher, and as a substitute for the last year and a half. A Little Bit About Me...

I became a para and went on to get my teaching degrees.Initially I received a BS in Human Services(This degree dealt with ethics, social work, counseling, and confidential issues) I felt these were issues as a teacher that would be beneficial. After working as a substitute for 2 years,I applied and was offered a Special Education position. I took the job and went to Regis University while I was working with 7th and 8th grade students. I worked at this position for three years, the year I graduated 2007 the school was faced with downsizing and I was let go. I worked the following year with 7th and 8th grade students in a different school district. I continue to move forward with learning and teaching.

As a student at the University of Colorado at Boulder, I've witnessed students struggling to understand concepts and began tutoring in order to help them. In addition to the courses I've taken for my environmental studies and political science majors, I've also taken courses in economics and engineering. I've tutored high school students and college students, and while I'm not certain what my SAT score was, I know my ACT score was a 31. In addition to tutoring, I've also had extensive leadership experience. I have been through the Core Leadership Program, the Advanced Leadership Program (both of which were offered through CUGOLD at the CU), and was a Coordinator for the Core Leadership Program.
