Experience Summary
Hello! My name is Kayla Bear. I am a first-year student at Purdue University; however, I am a sophomore according to my credit hours. I earned college credit in high school to get ahead of the game. I worked as a peer mentor throughout high school, helping students with their homework and helping prepare them for tests such as the SAT. I have taken a number of courses in various subjects, so I feel that I am able to help a wide range of students. I was editor of my high school yearbook last year, so I have a lot of experience training people in writing and grammar. I was also asked to tutor Statistics for Purdue University due to my high achievement in my statistics class in the fall 2012 semester. I believe I can truly help students of all ages achieve better grades and success in school.
Teaching Style
I never learned best when I was just asked to read a passage out of a book. I need to be able to apply what I am learning and understand why what I am learning is important. I will do my best to tutor students in a more hands-on manner.
My Hobbies
I love running, reading, shopping, and listening to music. In my free time, I like to watch the television show "Friends" as well as hang out with my friends.

I graduated from high school as a member of the National Honor Society and was recently invited to apply to Purdue's Honors College.
