I have always had a passion for teaching . I do not have a degree but I do have 20+ years experience. I think reading and learning should always be FUN so I try to make it fun by echo reading/funny flash cards/. All of my DAR(dream achieve read) students know that reading can take you places
I have been involved with the National Program I Can READ for 2 years I helped k-3rd graders improve reading skills/ I was lucky enough to be staff(and a volunteer) for the boys and girls club for 1 year.I have helped in many local elementary schools with reading. I was the main tutor for Preschool-1st grade at the American Fork literacy Center for 6 years(I volunteered for 9)

While I have taught in various ways and capacities throughout my life, I have always enjoyed most teaching one-on-one. As an undergraduate Spanish minor I tutored fellow undergraduates learning Spanish. As a graduate student I worked as a political science teaching assistant and taught my own classes in American and ethnic literature and culture. As an assistant professor of Ethnic and Mexican American Studies at St. Cloud State University and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities I taught various classes on American culture, history, and literature. I always enjoyed the individual interaction with students and believe some of my best teaching was achieved working with students individually.
