I have been involved with the National Program I Can READ for 2 years I helped k-3rd graders improve reading skills/ I was lucky enough to be staff(and a volunteer) for the boys and girls club for 1 year.I have helped in many local elementary schools with reading. Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects!

A Little Bit About Me...

As a college tutor I worked with ESL students in writing. My English and MLIS degrees help with reading developement, research, literature selection, and writing quality. I have also home schooled my elementary age children in all academic subjects. Currently, I am volunteering at a local elementary school in the STAR program tutoring young children in reading.
I have a daughter that is hearing impaired and has a langauge processing disorder. I also have a teenage son that is extremely bright, but a little lazy at school work. Teaching and watching them learn has shown me all children can learn, but they do it in different ways and at different speeds.
