My teaching philosophy is based on how children learn. I believe that children learn in diffrent ways, and I can help them meet these needs by making modificaitons and accommodations to any subject. I also believe that children need to explore in order to gain an in depth learning experience. I also believe that social interaction, is an important element to learning.
While in college I have gained experince in and out of the classroom. I have worked with children for a total of eight years. I have tutored students in math, reading, social studies, and language arts. I have worked with children in grades k through 8th grade. Having taught small and large classes, as well as one-on-one, I am a firm believer in the benefit that one-on-one and small group instruction can offer for students. As a teacher, I love being able to identify and capitalize on students' interests and strengths. I believe that all students can learn, and fully embrace and utilize the concepts of learning styles and multiple intelligences to help all students find success, regardless of the area of study.
I have been involved in offering educational services since I was in high school, when I tutored younger students in math, Spanish, research writing, and general elementary subjects. A career in education was a natural choice, and I have taught both ESL and Spanish, with experience in elementary and secondary teaching, as well as teaching online.

I like working with children and young people very much. I believe that teaching should always be student-centered. If necessary, I think it is okay to repeat information until the student is comfortable and confident that they have learned it.
