I love teaching. While I have also been a counselor and administrator, I managed to be able to at least tutor along the way, with a few exceptional years. I found that children were especially responsive to me, so I often found myself with elementary children (who, under my tutelage, managed to "catch up" an/or improve their grade point average -- often to their parents' delight). A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating with a bachelor's degree with a major in Spanish and minors in English and French, I began teaching high school Spanish my first year. Since I married a military officer, we moved often, so I had a chance to do substitute teaching at all grade levels and all subjects. I also developed the ability to adjust quickly to new environments due our frequent moves. It was a way to learn to teach numerous methods depending on the area of the country. I also learned to adjust my methods to the conditions under which I had to teach as there were occasions where the schools did not have text books or other supplies, so it was a matter of developing a curriculum of my own and using the blackboard as a teaching source.
