While attaining my genetics degree at Ohio State, I worked at the OSU Chimpanzee Center. After graduating, I started working for the Department of Agriculture in the Weights and Measures division. It was my job to try to "trick" the scales before they could become available for commercial use. I moved back home to Coshocton when I got married. I quickly found a job teaching adults within our county's GED program. I easily became the math and science "guru" with my background and began getting my Masters in Education from Muskingum University. As a graduate student, I worked as an Academic Adviser for student-athletes at The University of Akron. I have worked tutoring at-risk students in a cooperative environment. My duties included supervising and leading study sessions, helping students plan and organize time effectively, as well as implementing study and test taking strategies.
