I teach according to the student's learning style. I acknowledge that all students learn differently, and I excel at catering to visual, aural, and kinesthetic needs of students.
In 2011 to 2012 I worked as a lead tutor for Academic Achievers in Muncie. My core focus was to improve writing skills. I'm a graduated student from Purdue University with a BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology (SLHS). Between my time in both high school and college, my GPA never dropped below a 3.0. Both settings of education included years of math and science, and in high school four years of writing, English, and history. Volunteer work has been essential since high school, helping teachers, the elderly, disabled, and churches. I also have leadership skills as an assistant editor to a high school magazine as well as an officer for a leadership group for minority and international students.

I would characterize my teaching style as relationally oriented. I want the student to know that I care about him or her. I may not articulate as much, but I want the student to see that I am giving my time to serve their needs and not my own. Loosely speaking, I am also a proponent of multiple intelligences. The creative teacher can usually identify a way to relate material and content using a methodology that connects. My teaching style is based in facts. I philosophically reject radical post-modernity which posits that truth is a moving target. The student does not have the right to tell me that 1+1 = 3 because 1+1 = 2. I have taught 4 and 5th grade in the Texas School Systems for 24 years. I worked as a retired teacher in the Adams Wells Special Services Coop for 3 years (2006-2009)as a teacher's aide with special needs students both in the elementary and high school levels. Those children varied from autistic, cerebal palsy, Attention Deficit Disorders with and without Hyperactivity.
