I have an MS in mathematics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, a math-science-engineering college located in Terre Haute, IN. I have successfully tutored high school and college students from basic math through statistics. My high school students have improved their math qualifying exam scores substantially. Additionally, I have been an adjunct professor at Franklin University of Ohio, Ivy Tech, Harrison College and National College.
My teaching style is to involve the student at his or her level of knowledge and to encourage them to succeed on a personal and professional level. I have taught 4 and 5th grade in the Texas School Systems for 24 years. I worked as a retired teacher in the Adams Wells Special Services Coop for 3 years (2006-2009)as a teacher's aide with special needs students both in the elementary and high school levels. Those children varied from autistic, cerebal palsy, Attention Deficit Disorders with and without Hyperactivity. I really enjoyed working with these students to help them with their reading, math, and overall achievement. I am currently employed as a substitute teacher with the North Adams Community Schools on K-12 Levels. I also worked with the district in a specially funded program for a homework and tutoring afterschool program on 4th and Kindergarten levels.
