I believe that the most effective type of relationship between a teacher and a student is friendship to reduce any anxieties that may otherwise hinder the child’s progress. I enjoy helping others learn. It is a compliment when someone asks for your help. After tutoring and substitute teaching for about 2 years, I have learned that students comprehend material in many different ways. I am able to sit down with each student and ask them how THEY comprehend the material. I then make it to where they are the tutor and teaching me how to learn, however I do teach them the material. In order for them to become successful I have to be willing to listen and be passionate about helping them succeed in their area of weakness.

A Little Bit About Me...

After receiving my Bachelors degree, I moved to Japan where I taught English conversation to various age groups. I taught nearly six years in Japan. I returned to the United States to pursue my Masters degree and gained further experience teaching World History for three months. During my Graduate studies I was able to add to my skills as a teacher.
Each person has a unique way of seeing the world and their learning method is just as unique. By using my teaching experience gained by teaching a variety of children and adults, I am able to adapt my teaching style to reflect the way in which each student learns.
