For reading specifically, I teach students how to read critically for the main points in a book or passage while skimming over extraneous details. I also encourage them to put themselves into an author's shoes by thinking about his purpose and point of view. No matter the technique, I always start with a thorough warm up. I begin with relaxing exercises and lead into more rigorous and conditioning exercises. I then move on to teaching and reviewing the technique. I always make sure the client has a basic understanding of the form before moving onto more advance movement. I end with repertory/choreography to further develop the clients understanding of the movement and implement their findings into practical means.
