My comments on tutoring Literature : A solid literary foundation facilitates my 38-year career as a teacher who continues to earn most of his living as a writer.

I am foremost a writer whose 38-year, award-winning career is rooted in journalism. However, I also have an extensive teaching background. I would describe my teaching style as dynamic, creative student-centered
I've either taught or tutored in some form or fashion for over 17yrs now. I've had ages 3yrs to 22yrs old covering all manner of subjects and hobbies. One of my most rewarding experience was with an 18 year old special needs 10th grader ready to drop out of school. We met 2-3x a week for 6mths. In that time he raised his GPA from 1.2 to 2.7. He completed his 10th grade year and went on to take and pass the G.E.D. the following year.

Everyone needs help now and again!

I find most children at young ages are visual learners, but I am easily adjustable to many teaching styles to fit the students needs.
