Literally all my life I have been asked by students, parents and teachers to help students who were having trouble. I get tremendous fulfillment from watching someone who has been frustrated finally "get it." In addition to teaching music lessons, tutoring all subjects, and homeschooling my own two children, I have worked for the last 17 years with a private school. There I have taught a wide variety of subjects, but they depend on me the most heavily for high school sciences and maths. I am currently a registered substitute teacher, state certified to teach music and high school math, and I am working toward certification in more subjects. Due to my own hunger for education, I am actively pursuing a Masters Degree in Math Education.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with children. I believe for my experience that all kids can learn but in their own ways and time. This means that there are approximately three kinds of learning: visually (visual things help this kind of children to learn better like drawings or putting color to difference things), auditory (this ones like to learn having backgrounds of sounds. It could be either with music, songs, etc). I'm a very peaceful but right person who loves to see kids grow in every way. I am patient, easy ongoing and considerate. Motivating students to want to learn is a key facet of my success as a teacher. I have found that educating people to understand ‘why’ things are done is essential to having them truly understand the subject matter being taught. In short I teach them how to learn. My approach always includes the “coach approach” so the student knows you honestly want them to win and get a good grade in a particular subject. An essential component of the “student teacher” experience is developing a verbal performance contract in which responsibilities of the student and the teacher are very clear.
