The Student Comes First

I allow my teaching style to mold itself to each individual student, finding methods of communicating the information that best suit the learning style of my student. I favor a holistic approach to learning, believing that education should be of the whole person. If a student learns how a skill in his tutoring session can be applied in real life, then his or her perception of the subject may fundamentally improve.

As a graduate in the engineering field, I soon realized my true passion was for teaching and helping children understand the importance of education. I lived in a rural area of Alabama where education was lacking and quickly discovered a need for my ability to do math. I spent a year working part-time through a grant opportunity with the YMCA to assist struggling students in the classroom on a daily basis.
