I recently earned my physics degree. I am taking a few classes at NAU during the spring semester. I have tutored for a semester during my senior year of high school, and have been a physics and mathematics tutor at NAU since January 2009. I have a very strong background tutoring Calculus. I believe in teaching through example. With both physics and mathematics examples are key to develop understanding of theorems and proofs. I help students work through examples and and am able to create a variety of problems through previous experience.

The most common approach I take to tutoring a student is to first find out the student's learning style (be it visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or a combination), and then work with the student using this learning style. I also like to format the exercises in accordance with the test or quizzes the student is preparing for. I am a very easy going and patient tutor, but I will challenge my students to do their best. I had two very different teaching experiences in my last semester at ASU. The first was teaching an upper-division psychology course to fellow undergrads.
