I love to teach chilren to love to read! My 18 years of experience in the elementary classroom has been a wonderful experience. Most of those years have been in the first grade setting. I believe all children have their own pace and develop their own learning styles in which they are able to comprehend the knowledge that is being taught to them. Teaching Science I learned that by observing and working hands-on with experiments children really get involved with the process and in the outcome learn from the experience. I believe by letting students experience education they are more involved in their education and want to learn.
Since my graduation from Southeaster Oklahoma State University I substituted on all grade levels from pre-k to 12th grade for 2 years. In 2006, I earned my bachelors degree in Elementary Education K- 8th grades. My cognate was concentrated in the Socials Studies areas. I have a great love of history and always traveling to learn more about interesting parts of the country. After graduation, I taught Commercial Science grades 6th thru 8th in a middle school. I have taught computers for the past two years in the same school. I have also substituted in all grades and all subjects.
I feel that all students learn differently and for that my teaching styles vary. I am a visual person so; I that all children can learn when shown examples of what I am trying to teach them.
