I have taken advanced coursework in many subjects, including math, biology, and English, and I have studied French for many years as well. While preparing for my degree in journalism, I was hired by The Daily Universe, BYU's student newspaper, to help students in the newswriting class with their pieces. I enjoy working with students who are elementary aged up through college aged. I particularly love working with middle school students. I am sensitive to student's individual needs and realize that everyone learns at their own pace and in their own way. When I tutor in mathematics, I try to help students develop conceptual understanding, not just procedural knowledge. I believe that all students are capable of understanding mathematics and am able to provide different methods of instruction based on the student's needs. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy watching students grasp the scientific method as it is something that comes naturally to most people if put in the right context. Science is rewarding to teach because it incorporates other disciplines like math. I often receive comments about my effective teaching style.
