My comments on tutoring Writing Skills : Writing skills are taught in DYSLEXIA curriculum: manuscript and cursive. 40 years experience teaching all levels: elementary, middle, high school.

I follow the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching READING. This Literacy Intervention includes MULTISENSORY and MULTISTRUCTURED Reading, Phonics, Writing (cursive/manuscript) and Spelling instruction/practice. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching in the elementary and middle school classrooms for 13 years. I have worked as an after school tutor during many school years with 5-12 graders. In addition to the tutoring, I also directed an after school gifted and talented program where students engineered, designed, and created new inventions. I was a counselor at Camp Invention during the year 2011 which was another opportunity to engage students in learning outside of the classroom. I have many ways of teaching. I like to make the experience rewarding, fun and educational. Writing Skills is one of my top subjects!

I have been working as a student worker at Blue River Community College for the past few years. I really enjoy being able to help students study and learn. I graduated with my Associates this year and am pursuing a teaching degree. I have also had experience with helping tutor the children of freinds and family. I am able to and have exerience working with ages from elementary school students all the way up to college students.
I like to help students find out how they learn best by asking questions and through learning style tests. Everyone doesn't learn in the same way and by finding out the students learning style I like to then taylor how I help them learn based off how they will be able to retain the information best.

I tutored a fellow student in Finite Mathematics during college for one semester. I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology, working hard to finish my degree in three years. I recently took online classes in order to achieve my Masters of Science in Education. I have worked as a general paraprofessional in elementary schools for two years and a one-on-one paraprofessional for the last year.
