Experience Summary
Degree - Bachelor of Science - Year 1987 - Major - Psychology, Elementary Education - with a Minor in Child Development. Issued By - The College of The Ozarks - Work Study Program - Point Lookout, MO. My certification is currently expired in my Elementary Education, but I do hold certification as a Substitute Teacher in the State of MO. I homeschooled two children from preschool through 12th grade graduation and completion of high school. I have worked for two school districts for the past 6 years and currently work as a Behavior Interventionist in the Recovery Room for the Fort Osage School District. At my current job as a behavior Interventionist I often tutor small groups of children or children one on one, when they get behind in their classroom, because of behavior issues. One of my children whom I homeschooled is currently a nursing student and will graduate in May of 2016 with honors, with a Bachelors of Science Degree and a RN Nursing Degree. She is a member of the Phi Thata Kapa Honor Society and is an honor roll student at The College of The Ozarks, where her father and I are alumni at. I have experience with children with autism, dyslexia, and homeschooled my son with ADHD for 15 years including preschool, without being medicated. I am an extremely patient person and see the potential in every student. My son was not motivated with his ADHD and I was constantly trying to find new ways to help keep him motivated to learn and to love learning as much as I do. He is currently working with Foster Children at the Drum Farm, some of which have behavior and emotional issues, and he currently wants to go back and complete his degree to become a History Teacher or a Literature Teacher. Along with my BS Degree, I have done volunteer work such as a Sunday School Teacher, VBS Teacher, AWANA Leader and AWANA Commander for the past 24 years, at my church.
