Teaching Style

I follow the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching READING. This Literacy Intervention includes MULTISENSORY and MULTISTRUCTURED Reading, Phonics, Writing (cursive/manuscript) and Spelling instruction/practice. HANDS-ON and KINESTHETIC activities are especially effective in tutoring students with DYSLEXIA. One tutor, one student at a time, for two or more one-hour lessons per week, in my home. I am DEDICATED and PASSIONATE in ALL areas of teaching, mentorship, and tutoring.

My Hobbies

Reading, Swimming, Walking, TUTORING Students with DYSLEXIA, Live Music (Blues, Modern Rock, Classical), Dancing, Gourmet Cooking, Playing Piano, Golden Retriever dogs, life-long Girl Scout.

Other Comments

I chose my life-long career of teaching in all levels: K through Doctoral, at the young age of seven, inspired by my second grade teacher. Now I continue to develop specialties in teaching students with DYSYLEXIA, during retirement from my career of 40 years of teaching.
