As a future medical school student, I worked very hard throughout my undergraduate career and was able to obtain a B.S. in both Cellular Neuroscience and Psychology in only 3.5 years. I have participated in Biomedical research both at Allegheny College (neurodegeneration in Drosophila melanogaster) as well as at the University of Pittsburgh (aggregation kinetics of the huntingtin protein). Furthermore, I volunteered at Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Crawford County as a Big Brother. Through the mentoring program as well as the Allegheny College football team, I gained experience tutoring other players as well as helped my "little brothers" with their homework whenever necessary.

I have completed my Master's at SUNY Fredonia in Literacy I: Birth to Grade 6. I have been a substitute teacher in the past for one year. I taught grades Pre-K to Grade 12. At this time I am a full-time Pre-Kindergarten teacher at a Catholic school in Dunkirk, NY. I enjoy working with and teaching all levels of students and children. No two children learn in the same way. It is important to differentiate and identify the way that each child needs to be taught and engaged in the lesson. Lessons must be concrete and meaningful to a child. If things are taught to them in a way and on a level that they can grasp any child can be taught. It is important to me that each child be given an opportunity to learn. When working towards my Bachelor's I was able to achieve a dual BS in Accounting and Business Management. After working a few years, I decided to go into teaching. While doing this, I was able to assimilate my real life working experience, into the classroom. I have since obtained a second certification in Special Education.
