A Little Bit About Me...

From working with various types of students, I have learned that not everyone can learn material in the same manner. I myself am able to relearn and understand material very quickly and effectively. It is this skill that has allowed me to help friends, "little brothers," and teammates learn material that was previously a struggle for them. I have learned the value of patience when teaching others and will strive to adapt to a students learning style so that they are able to best understand material presented.

I have completed my Master's at SUNY Fredonia in Literacy I: Birth to Grade 6. I have been a substitute teacher in the past for one year. I taught grades Pre-K to Grade 12. At this time I am a full-time Pre-Kindergarten teacher at a Catholic school in Dunkirk, NY. I enjoy working with and teaching all levels of students and children. No two children learn in the same way. It is important to differentiate and identify the way that each child needs to be taught and engaged in the lesson. Lessons must be concrete and meaningful to a child. If things are taught to them in a way and on a level that they can grasp any child can be taught. It is important to me that each child be given an opportunity to learn.
