Sign Language is one of my top subjects! Both of my parents are deaf, I have been using ASL since the age of 1. I am now 20 years old and completely fluent in the language.

I prefer face to face teaching sessions but I can be flexible. To start of I like to see what the student may already know about the language. From there we will practice new material and once the student feels comfortable with the newly learned signs I will then have them attempt at having a conversation using the signs. This is so they can practice using the signs as well as receiving and comprehending the signs.
I have been the designated interpreter for my mother and father who are both deaf for well over a decade. Throughout my years I have helped interpret for those in need at various events such as school, church, doctors appointments, and social events. To further my knowledge of the language I have taken ASL courses 1-3 at the University Of Central Florida.

Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I'm working on becoming an interpreter; because I'm not an interpreter yet I do not consider my self an expert. I've participated in several Deaf Culture events. I completed all of my ASL classes at the University of Florida under a deaf professor. Although I graduated with a B.A in Linguistics I was very involved in ASL, and will continue to be in my graduate program as a Speech Pathologist and future Audiologist.

I'm personally a visual learner so I tend to teach the same way I learned. I think repetition is important when learning and retaining ASL.

Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I have been signing since 1994. Enrolled in college to receive an AA in American Sign Language, and will be continuing my education towards a Sign Language Interpreter Certification.

I started signing in 1994 when I met a deaf woman and her friend at my job. A few days later she came back and handed me a "Sign Language for Beginners" book. After many years of Deaf Clubs, Deaf Functions, and friends. Since 2003 I have been helping any deaf/hearing impaired people when they need help with communicating with what they call "Hearing" people. The deaf culture is very different and very interesting. I am now enrolled in college to get my degree in American Sign Language, then to get certified as a Sign Language Interpreter.
I try to keep away from the Sign Language books, It's hard to learn from a cartoon drawing or a picture with arrows showing the direction to move your hands. Sign Language can be a fun language to learn, you never know, the next person you bump into may be deaf. And wouldn't it be nice to be able to communicate with them?

My comments on tutoring Sign Language : I am Deaf and American Sign Language (ASL) is my primary language while spoken/written English is my secondary language. I am able to teach you the sign and interact with you to be able to learn ASL in faster pace than just learning from the book. ASL is a beautiful language, no doubt about that.

I provide hands on teaching than giving a lecture. I feel that people will benefit more when it is hands on.
I'm a freelance web and graphic designer and currently contract with a few companies such as Attractionseeker, ASLpolis, and a few other agency. I have been freelancing for 5 years and currently seeking full time employment at creative agency in Cincinnati, OH. I have taken all ASL courses and have received the letter grade "A" in all classes. I'm currently teaching students ASL that have no prior knowledge. I've created my own lesson plans and documents based on my learning experiences with ASL in college. All materials are provided when tutoring starts for study guides. My comments on tutoring Sign Language : I've always had a A in the class I can teach glossing, structure, and basic conversation. I can lay down the foundation.

I am experienced in tutoring all math areas from elementary to high school level and some college level math. My specialty is elementary math and Algebra. I am involved in various clubs and have a GPA of 3.6. I plan on Majoring in finance once in college. I currently tutor some students at my school.
I have all my students pick which area they are having the most trouble with. If they are unsure I create a evaluation test to asset their weak spots which will be our main focus. Then we review homework I go through each problem and teach them various ways of solving and give the importance of learning that specific skill.
