Composition is one of my top subjects! My award-winning writing career spans 38 years. Accolades include a Katie Award and three “Council for Advancement and Support of Education” awards. My comments on tutoring Composition : There are rules and formulas to composition. Learn those and let your ideas fly.

My style of teaching is real-world understanding and application firmly based on theory. In other words, I teach how to accomplish each element, but why it is important to do so. In my instruction, I establish goals and create achievable steps for the student to follow in order to achieve those goals.
I spent over 20 years as a graphic designer for various colleges and universities. I have no set style of teaching. I try to understand how to benefit the individual by examining their needs. Then, we go from there. Some students need an analytical approach, so the material can best be presented as a formula. Others need a creative approach. It really just depends on the student.

My comments on tutoring Composition : I have taken upper level English courses for the past six years.

I have student taught for the past seven years. I have tutored countless individuals in English, Drama and American Sign Language. I am fluent in ASL and am very confident in my ability to teach others the beautiful language. I was heavily involved in theater for the past fifteen years and I can say that my experience has taught me more than any coach could and I am more than willing to share my experience.
