My comments on tutoring Composition : Essentials of essay and composition writing - you will know how to structure an essay for the rest of your life!

I try to do some explication, and then have the student try some exercises or venture out on their own. In the cases of multiple sessions, I DO assign homefun (as opposed to homework), so that the student will have some experience when next we meet.
I am an experienced graphic and web designer. But in college I thought I was going to be either an English or History Professor, or an Attorney. That's why I studied lots of his History, English, and took the pre-law major Philosophy. I have several year of post-graduate classes as well. I started teaching Graphic Design in 2002, and brought into that Web Design, along with the skills that accompany them - HTML and CSS. I have even designed signs, and love it!

A Little Bit About Me...

In one form or another, I have been in a university setting for 18 years and for the last five years, I have been a columnist, writer and teacher in several capacities as a university reading and writing consultant, a public school substitute, an introduction to literature professor, a reporter and columnist, a film/music editor, a writing strategies professor, and a composition and rhetoric instructor. Everyone needs help now and again!

I have worked with children ages 5 and up for a few years now. I have 3 siblings all 8 years or more younger than me, and have had lots of experience with children in elementary school. I have tutored middle school students after hours, and have worked with Special Needs children throughout my summers and within my school.
I find most children at young ages are visual learners, but I am easily adjustable to many teaching styles to fit the students needs.
